OUR FAVORITE MEMORIES

My favorite memory with the Pride has to be last season’s game, when Toni returned to playing after beating cancer. Not only did that night hold such significance, but the game itself was incredible. I was lucky enough to be in the stands for that game. I’ve been playing soccer since I was a kid and the love for the game has been in my family even longer. Getting to see Megan Rapinoe, Marta, Ashlyn Harris, Sydney Leroux all play right in front of my eyes was a dream come true. That’s something I always take for granted, the fact that the best players in the world play for my city and I get to see them do it. The atmosphere in the stadium when Marta tied the game and dedicated the goal to Toni is something that I will never forget. I still have a video of it and I plan to keep it with me until I can show my kids. This club and team is special. Thank you all for building this place and this community we can all call family. -- A.

My favorite Pride memory is ridiculously hard to pinpoint, because there have been so many amazing moments over the years. There was the moment that intro trailer for the first season dropped and I immediately knew this was gonna be my club. There was the moment when we made it to the playoffs! The moment when Ali Krieger got traded to us, she’s one of my favorite players. The moment when the whistle sounded, and we’d kicked NCC’s ass. The moment when Marisa scored her first goal last season, and everyone celebrated her like we’d just won the championship. The moment when Toni walked back onto the field after beating cancer, and Ash gave her the captain’s armband. The moment Syd made her way back onto the pitch just months after giving birth to Roux. I feel like I could go on forever. Thank you for giving me so many amazing reasons to smile, cry, laugh and celebrate.  – Your fan forever, Dani

My favorite Pride memory is definitely clinching a playoff spot in 2017. Though the game did not go as planned, #PrideInPlayoffs is a representation of all the hard work and dedication our team put in all season long. I remember watching the Seattle vs. FCKC match late at night, praying for a Seattle loss in order for the Pride to clinch a playoff spot and celebrating when it finally happened. I was so unbelievably proud of this team then and still am now. We’ll never stop supporting and soon, that championship will belong to Orlando! - Jill

My favorite pride memory will forever be the moment Toni walked on the field for the 1st time after her surgery, this was so emotional and I was so proud of her. She is a hero and I love her. -- Anon.

I’ve a lot of favorite pride moments ! This team is such an aspiration for me. Firstly it’s the playoff in 2017 for the first time ! Secondly, Syd : back on the field 3 months after giving birth. She’s so strong, determined. And Thirdly, Toni walked on the field after beating cancer and Ashlyn gave her captain’s armband. Thank you for making me laugh, cry, stress and most importantly, for making me happy every day. — Jade

My favorite pride memory was when Toni came back to play after overcoming cancer! This was a special moment for me because I lost a loved one to cancer, so I know how difficult and exhausting it is to fight this disease every day.  Seeing her come back to play at the highest level shows how brave and strong she is. All her teammates were proud and really supported her, then Ashlyn’s humble and honourable gesture of giving her the captain’s armband really warmed my heart, she’s a wonderful captain! That’s what Orlando is to me, a strong and dedicated team where everyone can count on each other. – Héloïse

WE HAVE ALWAYS BEEN FAR BIGGER THAN SOCCER.
