CLAIRE EMSLIE

From Your Biggest Fans

First off, I just want to say thank god that you joined the Orlando Pride because if you didn’t, I wouldn’t have known you. Right when you stepped on the field, I instantly fell in love with how you played, it is just a bonus that you are such an amazing person with a genuinely kind personality. You have become one of my top favorite players to watch not only on the pride but for Melbourne City also. Your dedication and excitement for playing for the pride is something that as a fan is amazing to see. I am so heartbroken that I can’t see you play a full season with the pride because I was really looking forward to it. Next year is going to be the year and I can’t wait to rep your name on the back of my Pride jersey. I love you so much and I’m ready to see you back in purple again. -Liv

Ever since I heard you were joining the Pride I was pumped to see you play for us. Scotland was one of the teams I was rooting for the hardest in last year’s WWC! It’s a joy to see you play, whether it’s for the Pride, for the Scottish national team or in the WSL. I was especially pumped to see your amazing WSL season with Emily van Egmond translate onto the field for the Pride this year and while I’m sad it didn’t happen, I’m sure the both of you will help bring the heat for us in 2021. You seem like one of the most genuinely sweet and kind people, which is exactly why you are so important for this team and why you fit right into this family. Us fans are behind you all 100% and I can’t wait to see you back in purple next year! – Dani

Because we didn’t see much of you last season, I was very excited to see you back in purple this year, especially after your impressive run with Melb City FC in the offseason (Congrats on winning the premiers and championship!). Seeing that you were so eager to come back to Orlando to train with the girls again shows what a team player you are and how much this club means to you. Obviously, things didn’t go as planned this tournament but I am so excited for you to be back stronger and ever next season in purple! -- Myra

Us fans were so excited to see that you came back to Orlando to play in this tournament. We got a look at how hard you were all training, and it was truly a testament to your dedication. Watching you represent the club in 2019 was incredible and I hope we get to for more seasons to come. Your excellence followed outside of Orlando into the W-League and at the World Cup, where you impressed us all. You’re a huge inspiration! 2021 can’t come sooner. Sending love and support. - Meredith

Hi Claire! You quickly became one of my favorite players after watching you during the 2019 season - you’re truly such a light for the Pride! We were all SO excited to see you back in purple and return to Orlando for the tournament, and I know you were too! It’s obvious that you are extremely dedicated to this club and that shows just how excellent of a teammate you are. You are an incredibly talented footballer, and I cannot WAIT to see what you’ll bring in the future not only to the Pride, but also to the Scotland WNT! We’re incredibly lucky to have you on our team. 2021 will be Orlando Pride’s year, I know it! Keep being your amazing self, Claire, we all love you! -- Kye

Claire, you are a fantastic young player and someone I’m so excited to see grow in the future. Seeing you play last season as well as in the World Cup was so entertaining. Even with what happened this year, I think you are going to come back next season even better. Your passion for the game is evident when you play and I’m confident that it will help you take on this challenge with ease. Sending you thoughts and support. -Mia

I first noticed you when I was watching Scotland play in last year’s World Cup. Your tenacity on the field, as well as that amazing goal against England, immediately drew me in. The fact that you were playing for this team was honestly one of the reasons that I chose to support the Pride. Also, off the field, you’re so kind and make such special moments with everyone. I’m so sorry that this season ended up like it, but I know how determined and strong you are, and I know that you;’ll be back in 2021 better than you’ve ever been. We love you!! --Ana Lise
