You are one of the nicest and kindest soccer players out there, maybe that’s just the Canadian in you. I’m so happy to know that this club has someone as amazing as you to look up to. I hope you know that your presence and impact on the team doesn’t go unnoticed. Even when the club is going through its toughest times, you always have a positive energy and a smile on your face and I think that speaks to the kind of person you are. I’ve been a longtime fan, prior to your debut in purple. Seeing you in real life for the first time on the Canadian National team when I was 10 years old was a dream- and you had inspired me along my soccer journey ever since. I was so excited to find out you were joining the Pride in 2018 and you have been a rock for our defense. I’m ready to see you back in #4! Maybe it’s the Canadian in you, but one of the first things that comes to mind when I think of you is ‘always genuinely kind and happy’. I can’t imagine this team without you on it. The love you have for this club and the Orlando community as a whole warms my heart as a fan. You’re a vital part of our defense and it’s a privilege to get to watch you play on both the Pride and the Canadian national team. Shelina, you are such a joy to watch in our backline. I had started watching you way before you came to the pride, and when you signed I was so excited for you to join. Shelina, as someone who has been watching both international soccer as well as the NWSL for a while, it’s been so fun to see you play on the Pride. You fit in so seamlessly and I knew the backline this year was going to be new and improved. You’re also such a great role model and are so valued by younger players, especially in Canada. Even with this unexpected turn of events, I hope you know that the fans are so proud of everything you’ve accomplished and your ability to adapt to changes during this weird year. You’re probably the main reason I watch the Canadian team, and it really sucks that you won’t be able to play for your club or your country until probably 2021.
